Crash-Rated Vehicle Barriers & Anti-Ram Systems

Installation, commissioning, and long-term service of certified perimeter security systems — supporting prime contractors and facility owners across the northern plains.

Capability

Certified Systems, Installed by a Local Steel Shop

Crash-rated barriers only perform to their tested rating when they are installed exactly to the manufacturer's certified drawings — correct foundation depth and reinforcement, correct anchorage, correct sub-base preparation, correct commissioning. That is fabrication and site work, and it is what we do every day.

We install and service manufacturer-certified vehicle barrier systems as a specialty subcontractor. We are not the barrier manufacturer or the crash-test certifier — we are the crew that puts the certified product in the ground correctly, integrates the controls, proves it works, and comes back to keep it working.

Scope We Self-Perform

  • Foundation excavation, rebar, and formed concrete to certified detail drawings
  • Anchorage, leveling, and setting to manufacturer tolerance
  • Hydraulic power unit, conduit, loops, and control integration
  • Commissioning, cycle testing, and owner training
  • As-built documentation and closeout submittals

Ratings We Work To

Speaking the Same Spec Language

Whether your submittal package calls it out in current ASTM terms or legacy Department of State K-ratings, we work from the certified drawings and the penetration rating your project requires.

ASTM F2656Legacy DOS EquivalentTest Condition
M30K415,000 lb medium-duty truck at 30 mph
M40K815,000 lb medium-duty truck at 40 mph
M50K1215,000 lb medium-duty truck at 50 mph
P1 / P2 / P3Penetration rating: P1 is 3.3 ft or less past the barrier; P2 is 3.31–23 ft; P3 is 23.1–98.4 ft

We also install low-speed surface-mount systems rated under ASTM F3016 (S-ratings) where site conditions rule out deep foundations, and work to DoD, UFC, and agency-specific anti-ram requirements as directed by the design team.

Systems

Active & Passive Barrier Types

Anti-Ram Gates

Crash-rated sliding gates — cantilever or track-mounted — plus swing, vertical pivot, and vertical lift gates for controlled entry points, integrated with the access control the facility already runs.

Wedge & Plate Barriers

Shallow and deep-mount wedge barriers for active vehicle denial at guarded entrances, sally ports, and inspection lanes.

Retractable Bollards

Automatic and manual retractable bollard lines for entrances that must open for authorized traffic and hold against everything else.

Fixed Security Bollards

Crash-rated fixed bollards protecting building faces, utility equipment, fuel islands, pedestrian zones, and standoff perimeters.

Crash Beams & Cable Barriers

Drop-arm crash beams and cable systems for long spans, secondary entrances, and perimeter runs where full barriers aren't required.

Barrier Arms & Traffic Control

Non-rated barrier arms, loop detection, and lane control for the traffic-management side of the same entrance.

For Prime Contractors

Subcontractor Support Across the Northern Plains

If you are bidding or building a project in western South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, or Nebraska that includes a crash-rated perimeter scope, flying a barrier crew in from out of region is expensive and slow. We are already here, with the equipment and the certified welders.

  • Regional coverage: based in Rapid City, mobilizing across SD, WY, MT, ND, and NE
  • Self-performed: in-house fabrication, certified welding, crane truck, and install crew
  • Bid support: budget pricing and constructability input during preconstruction
  • Full scope: foundations, barrier setting, hydraulics, controls, and integration into the perimeter fence line
  • Documentation: submittals, as-builts, testing records, and O&M closeout
  • Field adaptation: when the site doesn't match the drawing, we can fabricate the fix instead of waiting weeks on a shipment

Facilities We Support

Where These Systems Go In

Federal buildings and courthouses · military installations and training areas · electric substations and utility yards · water treatment and pipeline facilities · data centers · airports and airfield perimeters · correctional facilities · mining and industrial sites · fuel and chemical storage

Ongoing Service

Barriers Are Only Rated If They Still Work

A wedge barrier that won't cycle is a gate propped open. Hydraulic systems, loops, and controls need scheduled attention, and most facilities in this region have no local service option — which means a fault becomes a security posture problem while everyone waits on a travel day.

Service Scope

  • Preventative maintenance programs and scheduled inspections
  • Hydraulic power unit service, seals, and fluid
  • Control, loop, and access-integration troubleshooting
  • Emergency response for barriers stuck up or down
  • Repair and re-commissioning after vehicle impact
